There is so much junk out there and believe me I spent hundreds of dollars on trash programs that either simply did not work or required a bunch of money (PPC) to make money.

I want to make this clear…I do not use PPC to make money online. It is an effective method to make money online but it does require a considerable amount of capital to make it work.

When I first started trying to build my home based online business I did not have spare money to throw into it so I had to learn free techniques. It has been so effective for me that I have simply continued to build on that foundation.

Most of us know the power of back links and how article sites can provide us with an avenue to write about the things we want to attract people to as well as raise search ranking.

Seems like a bunch of BS huh?

Well I can tell you that although I had to learn some things to apply to the internet, my business that brings in well over 100k annual is based completely on writing content online.

How is this possible you might think…

Well the short answer is very simple. People worldwide are searching for things they want and need 24 hours a day. Being able to write compelling content that helps people find the things they want / need and direct them to a merchant partner that comensates me for helping to generate sales has been the key.

In my last writing I used iTunes as an example but there are thousands of ways you can partner with companies and do the same thing. The most important things to me are:

• I don’t have to sell anything. I provide information and never attempt to sell because that is my merchant partners job.
• No customer service emails or phone calls
• No inventory or packing / shipping of products
• Zero overhead costs. Think hard and see if you can come up with a business where the only cost really is learning how to run your business. I bet you cannot think of a single one.

Most people are extremely leary of the things I am saying above because there is so much junk and scams online as well as TV informercials that have kind of intensified all of our BS radars. I understand this completely.

This is why I created my Make Money Online site at http://www.onlinemoneytruth.com as well as this blog. I will constantly be providing real and legitimate information for those looking for real ways to earn a living online.

Go to Google and search “walmart affiliate program”, “target affiliate program”, “amazon affiliate program”.

These are well known companies with reputations they would not risk tarnishing by being involved with a scam business.

Learning how to use these affiliate programs to attract people to the things they want and need is exactly how the business works.  Like everyone else I work while listening to some of my favorite tunes on my iPod. How many millions of people are searching iTunes ona daily basis for a certain song or just randomly searching.

Did you know Apple has an affiliate program? Think about how many blogs, Hubpages, Squidoo Lens’, Wetpaint site or articles about an artist, song, genre, etc. that could provide the reader with relevant links to songs they may want for their iPod.

Instant Cash.

As always the key is knowing what people are searching online. This is something you cannot guess and there are plenty of tools out there that will tell you all the related searches to any topic.

Yes there are people who go directly to the iTunes site. The folks we are attracting are those searching their favorite artist, song or genre. These are people who are passionate about a certain aspect of music. Passionate people spend money on what they think they need even if it was not what they were looking in the first place. There are millions of these people online!!!

When I first started looking into the Apple affiliate program I had a discussion with a couple of friends on Wealthy Affiliate about the different promotional angels. This brain storming session that went on over a couple days opened my eyes to the fact there is literally thousands of ways to promote this program.

Although my main commissions come from iTunes, I do get iPhone & various iPod commissions which are icying on the cake.

just a small example of the many possiblities out there for folks looking to build or increase an online living.

Let’s face it 99.99% of people using article submission sites are marketing something. The article sites know this and it is a trade off for the ad revenue the article site generates.

It seems that these sites are constantly trying to keep in the good graces of Google which is important for marketers. The problem I see is they are getting out of control and not marketing friendly. Keep in mind this should be a mutual “you scratch my back and I scratch yours” relationship.

You absolutely have to have authors submitting only original content that is in a helpful / informational format. Affiliate links are not the devil as most think if they are submitted in anchor text format and finally the author bio section…..

We all know what a joke the author bio section has become on most article sites. It is nothing more than a marketing box article sites allow and this is the one place where they seem to have little to no rules.

I am working with some friends that are creating a new article directory site and the intent is to make it the most marketing friendly article directory that still maintains some of the basics “musts” that allow for high search listing indexing.

I am putting together another post that will follow and go over the benefits of article marketing and proper article formatting.

In our last Google segment, found here, we talked about the Adwords program and how business owners use the program to place “sponsored listings” on the front page of Google results.

We know want to talk about the back end that makes the Adwords / Adsense creation a complete business.

Let’s say you are selling table lamps online and you decide you want to select a few targeted keyword phrases to try and drive buyers to your Table Lamp business.

We know that we tell Google what keyword phrase searches should trigger our sponsor listing to try and attract targeted site visitors. The other place Google places your link is on topic relevant sites across the Adsense network.

So I have a home decoration website and i have signed up to the Adsense program to have adwords links palced on my site. In my “lighting” section of the site the link to your seite appears. This works great because it ads a topic relevant source on my page and provides you with potential site visitors you kn are already researching related topics.

Here is what happens (dollar values are for example only, all keywords vary based upon competition and bid.)

When a visitor click on your site ad on my site….

Google charges you a click through fee of .50

Because the click came from a visitor on my site Google pays me .25

Google keeps .25 (not a bad deal for hooking you link up with my site.)

This is why there are bloggers and site owners making hundreds and even thousands a month creating content sites that feature Adwords ads. The video I am working on will help my newsletter members understand how you target these “keyword phrases” to draw a full time living from the Google Ad Machine.
